Nunca Mais Sou Doutor (2008) by Manel Cruz

Manel Cruz is a Portuguese artist, best known as the leader of Ornatos Violeta, a very celebrated cult band of the late 90s. His first passion was drawing though, his career dream as a kid being in "banda desenhada" (comics). But the troubles and pressure of adolescence made him look for a haven in music and eventually he found success there. That said, he never abandoned his first inclination: his drawings can be seen in the booklets of both Ornatos Violeta albums, as well as in the the book that comes with his solo effort "Foge Foge Bandido". Besides this, he continued to drawn on the side, making professional technical drawings every once in a while, as well as comics full of his particular sense of humour, overflowing with non sequiturs. These are somewhat hard to find, but I managed to dig the one above, from 2008.

To any non-Portuguese speaking readers, the comic follows a surrealistic narrative where our "hero" is apparently a sculpture apprentice who forgets to carve a face, this shortcoming being punished by a taller gentleman with the order to "go run forever"; our unfortunate champion is soon joined by two dogs, extremely pleased that they have company.
