Estória do Gato e da Lua (1995) by Pedro Serrazina

This short film was written and directed by Pedro Serrazina, who also served as one of the chief-animators of the small production team, in 1995. The tender poem was narrated by Joaquim de Almeida and blends with the music of Manuel Tentugal and the clear lines of the visuals, that exchange excessive ornaments for well marked contrasts, in such a fluid way that it's reminiscent of a feline. The simple yet intense movie won several awards in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Chile, Ukraine, Canada, Germany, Belgium, and ended up being the first Portuguese short nominated for the Cannes Film Festival. Check out the English version.

No meio de tanto mar o barco tornava-se cada vez mais apertado, o mundo cada vez mais pequeno para toda aquela paixão!
