When Stephen Wiltshire was three he was diagnosed with autism. With the disorder, however, came also an extraordinary photographic memory and an unbound imagination. He was lured by drawing as a young kid and his natural gift was quickly noticed by teachers. With only 13 he was invited to go on TV and released a book. That lead to collective and individual exhibitions and in 2006 he was honoured with the Order of the British Empire and opened his own gallery in London. Nowadays Wiltshire is mostly recognized for his huge total panoramas of diverse cities, teeming with details, that he usually creates after a short helicopter ride. Besides those, there are smaller city landscapes and some city-as-globe drawings, one of which you can see above.
